The Mythic Man series explores the gravity of responsibility, tenacity, and sacrifice. Unlike the defiance of gravity seen in Dance, these works depict figures in struggle, interacting with unseen forces that tug them toward the earth’s core. Drawing on archetypes from Atlas to Samson, I reimagine these figures not as bound by fate but as modern men making principled choices to continue.
 

As Richard Speer writes in From the Heart: Sculpture by Martin Eichinger, the series uses ‘the nude or nearly nude male form as an avatar,’ inspired by ancient traditions, to symbolize the open-endedness of free will.
